Nobody cares for you and it is a good thing

My objective is to show you that nobody cares for you. It may sound counterintuitive. Yet it is a profound truth.

I will share some examples to show why I am saying that.

Finally, and most importantly I want to show you the implication and how we can use this knowledge to transform our lives.

Really?  nobody cares?

I think people do not care because they can’t. It is the inherent limitation of being human, – an expression of life. Parents care for their children. People care for their parents. Companies care or don’t for their employees.

Consider your friends five or ten or fifteen years back.  Consider your friends now. Is there anyone with whom your relationship has changed? Why has it changed?  It is probably due to something which has been affected concerning your or your friend’s need or implicit expectation from the relationship. The friendship would always be the same if it was about this individual (who you say is your friend).

Your friends don’t care for you – they care for what you mean to them.

You don’t care for an individual as an individual – It is YOUR relationship – like a friend – that you really care for.

I will give you an example to show that relationship is the key to any interaction with any individual.

If I tell you Dean was killed due to Covid-19; – what will you say?

You will probably ask – who is Dean?

Dean is my friend.

This relationship is the connector to a person. It is this connection that is the foundation. The person per se – without any relationship – is as good as non-existent.

It is only in the context of a relationship people care or don’t for one another.

Study all the characters you know who have fallen from grace. People throw away heroes when they do not meet the expectation or mental image people have of them.

Corporations make some individuals their brand ambassadors as those individual lives the values the corporations want to project. It is not about the person. It is what that person represents

When we are in a position of power or prestige – we feel that people care for us. We identify ourselves with the roles. We say people respect and admire us. However, after we leave the office, nobody will care for us.

People do not care for you. People care for what you mean to them. People are interacting with your identity and not the person that you are.

Good news

Here is the reason –why it is good news.

It allows you to express yourself as yourself – good and bad – however it is. It means you do not have to worry about what people would think. If you think carefully, you will see that it is truly liberating.

The second implication is that it helps us realize that we are small and insignificant individuals. We are not as important as we think we are. The family and the world will move on and we will be wiped out from people’s memory.

One of the most profound implications is the realization that the flip side is also true. This means I also really do not care for others. This has helped me to face my truth. It helps me to see thru the lies I tell myself. It has helped me to face my dark side and be at peace with it. This has helped me to be more and more authentic and open.

The realization that nobody cares for us brings us closer to the true nature of the world. It liberates us. It enables us to see the truth. In the end, it allows us to live an authentic and fulfilling life.
