We are all different. Our stories, our backgrounds our experiences may be different. Yet – we are all deeply connected. I think we are closer to each other than we think. At the level – just beneath our ego and apparent experience of separation – we have no difference. Here we can connect with others without language without expression. In fact, at this level, we lose our independent existence.
I met with several of my friends after forty years. Our paths were different. Our journeys were different. Yet one thing was strikingly the same. It was fascinating to see that we have aged. Time has taken a toll on each of us. The details of our change were different. Yet it felt like we were connected to one single thread of life. None of us escaped aging.
It is really beautiful that no matter how much we want to tell the story of our lives as “me” and “mine”. In reality, it feels like we are the instruments through which life keeps moving. The baton of life is being passed from generation to generation. We are pawns in the cosmic chess game.
I take a walk every day as part of my ritual to walk my dog. One of my favorite things is to look closely at the plants. I get fascinated that I always see tiny leaves sprouting on the pants – on each plant. Leaves wither and fall and new leaves keep coming. The invisible force guides the wheel of birth and death. Interestingly, we do not have any clue how it works.
When strong winds blow – I watch in wonder how the leaves and branches move. Trees with long branches will swing in wide arcs. Small plants have smaller movements. It feels that all the plants and trees are swinging and swaying. Depending on their shape size and position they may move differently.
However different their movement may be, how much they move can all be explained by the laws of physics.
I see the shadows of the bushes or the plants or the trees are of different sizes and each has its own shadow. We can explain the shadows by the properties of light and the laws of physics.
The physical world is governed by laws. We do not know where these laws came from. They are there and work precisely on all forms.
When you go out on the streets and highways you may see that there are cars of different shapes and sizes going in all directions. You may also see that there is an individual behind each wheel going thru their own life’s journey really and figuratively. You may look at the cars and leave them as cars. You can also see that cars as life’s longing to move. Life’s eternal journey.
Looking at my dog’s deep black eyes – if feel that he experiences that same worry anxiety joy and fear – just like I do.
In our pain, we shed tears. The pain may have different causes – but it hurt each of us and we shed tears the same.
Our journeys are different our stories may be unique. We like to think of ourselves as separate individuals. Yet we are expressions of one single life blossoming thru myriad shapes and on a journey that we do not know anything about.
We don’t know where we came from, and we do not know why in the infinitely vast space on a small planet we exist. Why do we exist at all?
Magic is when we do not understand how things happen. When the magician takes the coin in hand and the same coin in another person’s hand – we get mesmerized.
Yet, in our daily life, in our walking sleeping living dying crying, we do not see the real magic all around us. Let us pause during the day, whenever our time permits, to be mesmerized by the greatest magic of all.
Right here is the perfect website for anybody who wishes to find out about this topic. You know a whole lot its almost hard to argue with you (not that I personally would want toÖHaHa). You certainly put a new spin on a subject that has been written about for decades. Excellent stuff, just excellent!
